Description:
Tarrazú is the coffee producing area with the highest latitude and the largest yield in Costa Rica. Arabica coffee is almost entirely planted, the main variety is Caturra (Caturra), and up to 95% of Alpine Hard Bean (SHB) is produced locally. The climate and soil conditions also dominate the country. Let’s start with the altitude. The local altitude falls between 1200-1700 meters, which is most suitable for the growth of Arabica coffee. In terms of climate, there are only two seasons in the local area, the relatively dry season from December to April, and the rainy season from May to October. Therefore, coffee can be collected twice a year. The soil benefits from volcanic irrigation and is extraordinarily fertile.
